by Karin Slaughter
Last Breath is the prequel to Karin Slaughter’s standalone thriller The Good Daughter. This short story based 13 years before. In this book you get to meet the characters; Charlie Quinn who is the main character, Charlie’s husband, prosecution lawyer Ben Bernard, her dad, Rusty Quinn and his secretary Lenore.
Charlie Quinn is a defence lawyer, who wasn’t planning to do any more pro bono work. As she already has a client that owes her two thousand dollars. But when a troubled teenager comes to her for help she can’t say no. Flora is afraid that her Grandparents are squandering her trust fund, and wants to be emancipated. Is Charlie being led astray?
Karin Slaughter provides a great prequel, that has twists and turns along the way.
I must say that I did enjoy this book, it has left me wanting to read The Good Daughter. I am looking forward to getting the next book and reading and reviewing it. I have to admit I have read all of Karin Slaughter’s books to date and I must say I never been disappointed in any of them.
Karin Slaughter is one author I follow for my Mystery/Thriller books.
I recommend you pick up this book if you enjoy reading mystery/thriller books.
See you in the next chapter.
